It feels like forever since I've written a post to this blog. Why have I suddenly come back to post a card, you ask. Well, a friend from the other, lower half of this world is having her 60th Birthday this year and you know, of course, that's a big deal. Bronwyn Eastley, hailing from the part of the world from which the Tasmanian Devil originates is the friend to whom I'm referring. I will also admit that the fact of this being the "Fancy Fold" portion of this Birthday Hop played a part in my participating. So check out the <a href="https://addinktivedesigns.com/2022/08/03/60th-birthday-blog-hop-5-fancy-folds/" target="_blank"> 60th Birthday Blog Hop #5 - Fancy Folds</a> after enjoying my card.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzqUXj_MvLwjl1tKju_ngSMhR-p1RZHpm1WeIBwBUk-7yO3-wQsaZHiof4JqWJzmyR2Mg_2QBlaxvntKC8AyVUaeheGC9oIDs_1rxyL_irzzEVQt_cQn56cMlOBUClqM4nEdr0BRaemBiqDJuSHc_rQaXVVFA3Ue3lcufp_vaw4ZYFNaR3koB8aiiE7A/s1107/Bronwyn%2001.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="760" data-original-width="1107" height="440" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzqUXj_MvLwjl1tKju_ngSMhR-p1RZHpm1WeIBwBUk-7yO3-wQsaZHiof4JqWJzmyR2Mg_2QBlaxvntKC8AyVUaeheGC9oIDs_1rxyL_irzzEVQt_cQn56cMlOBUClqM4nEdr0BRaemBiqDJuSHc_rQaXVVFA3Ue3lcufp_vaw4ZYFNaR3koB8aiiE7A/w640-h440/Bronwyn%2001.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>Isn't this fold gorgeous? It's sort of a drop front gate-fold which Bronwyn designed. You have to check out her amazing special fold designs here. She was kind enough to allow me to use this template and I had just the stamps to use for it. </p><p>This set is called The Riverbank by the Craft Consortium. I immediately thought of making a grotto using the images and, luckily, had the perfect (long-retired) Designer Series paper to make that grotto a reality.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7VMPx8pc7FkGKqckn7tguIDz_mPQ_EbVX3uC_7QLKni010Bd3_FITT7NJqNNap4IwlQ5-XyptYwggCG8T_HnhaZ1tCWgYiiDrXy3PRpvRfVUtcj3g9yIAwn8uLgo0pZjiTkz1p4YFhI-s8oH-rCUVbz5zZo-TWON3roz7_xGUkeds5VqFFBTfl7Bzuw/s1103/Bronwyn%2002.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1103" data-original-width="809" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7VMPx8pc7FkGKqckn7tguIDz_mPQ_EbVX3uC_7QLKni010Bd3_FITT7NJqNNap4IwlQ5-XyptYwggCG8T_HnhaZ1tCWgYiiDrXy3PRpvRfVUtcj3g9yIAwn8uLgo0pZjiTkz1p4YFhI-s8oH-rCUVbz5zZo-TWON3roz7_xGUkeds5VqFFBTfl7Bzuw/w470-h640/Bronwyn%2002.jpg" width="470" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>This is a close-up of the centre swan and its surroundings. I used my Caran d'Ache Aquarelle pencils and Derwent water brush to colour the images. For the swan's eyes, I used black Liquid Pearls and then scattered some yellow and blue/green pearls throughout the card. That drop front on which I've placed the swan and blooming water lilies folds up against the centre panel.<p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2jhyW9EZFzDf3FRwwymJ1bXm-luNfQ3rXxPel-9JKewrNNW9Bn_rL9qXPJXfPNcK5VsU-a6m-jbEyn9zNtG0UmUIDBBKyjhQ9GWXDoKT-IaEtBS-FAcUDchnYOPSIUy4ce8lJ0ZI3EiFfv2ZuTgnTIocMCkte5XR5Q17MSV3bSjZ9mwx4pm-KZB216w/s1009/Bronwyn%2003.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1009" data-original-width="911" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2jhyW9EZFzDf3FRwwymJ1bXm-luNfQ3rXxPel-9JKewrNNW9Bn_rL9qXPJXfPNcK5VsU-a6m-jbEyn9zNtG0UmUIDBBKyjhQ9GWXDoKT-IaEtBS-FAcUDchnYOPSIUy4ce8lJ0ZI3EiFfv2ZuTgnTIocMCkte5XR5Q17MSV3bSjZ9mwx4pm-KZB216w/w361-h400/Bronwyn%2003.jpg" width="361" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>The card folds beautifully to fit into a standard envelope but refuses to stand there, folded up so that I could take a photo. Not to be beaten by a caard, I resorted to using some of my old fancy paper clips and thus managed this straight-on photo of the fully-closed card. Even closed it's pretty, isn't it, with those sparkly dragonflies hovering along the centre line? I used some glitter glue over the water-coloured wings to give them that wonderful irridescent effect they have in real life.<p></p><p>I hope you've enjoyed this special fold. There are many more in this fun blog-hop. Just follow along and check out the other "hoppers" listed below.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://scissorspapercard.blogspot.com/2022/08/brons-birthday-blog-hop-august.html" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; It feels like a lifetime since our first post on June 1st, 2014. It's been a wonderful "ride" and the experience has been fabulous. I'm proud to have been part of the journey and to have "met" so many new people along the way.</p><p>Of course my last card has to be a jaw-dropping, ridiculously involved fancy fold. Going out with a "bang" is part of my DNA. This particular fold is the brainchild of the very talented Sam of "Mixed Up Craft". Called the "Double Accordion Display Card", it takes a lot of materials and patience but it is so very worth the time. Thankfully the Magical Day Suite has a lot of the characters I wanted for the card and so I fussy cut or die-cut several dragons, wizards, apprentices and castles to add to some of the many squares in this card. I used a matte of the Red Foil first and then added the images or patterned paper. Perfect for the Valentine's Day card I've created using one of the adorable House Mouse images created by Ellen Jareckie in 2019. I decided to stamp the image and then cut it out with one of my heart dies. Don't they look adorable?</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgOgchtKXodbks_RY5u1Jd6RrYHuqqeVvnHZ7a2cctOxu6pIJ6xyq3nHr2AH7GABi-yvsplpb1GQUapRyNKVamIDJax0bE4Ckn8DONyMAal5Srwxdu-Oc2PRAE_tjF6c8t65PAqq_IAWKvgZ8iP7QG7QKWjNnoAkCam-UKBKgMbX8wWhdGub38TU8j5mQ=s960" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgOgchtKXodbks_RY5u1Jd6RrYHuqqeVvnHZ7a2cctOxu6pIJ6xyq3nHr2AH7GABi-yvsplpb1GQUapRyNKVamIDJax0bE4Ckn8DONyMAal5Srwxdu-Oc2PRAE_tjF6c8t65PAqq_IAWKvgZ8iP7QG7QKWjNnoAkCam-UKBKgMbX8wWhdGub38TU8j5mQ=w400-h400" width="450" /></a></div><div><br /></div>This is an oversized card, measuring 6 1/2" by 5". The size allowed me to frame the heart with a matte of Melon Mambo and then mount it on the lovely printed vellum background. The matte of Mossy Meadow cardstock compliments the grasses in the image as well as helps the white printed leaves to show up nicely on the vellum.<br /><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEifWMzzycZ4F4RGDQcNt6bi_SNw7oUkb_Ytv0DqcSvbyP9i_Kn0w8pxxEngrkLNm35WkvYZjtb1R2qlYTtHN9d7ISqOrrp336SzzJOAk7o5Ff1uyp9E9X0W0NS3UpoKCeJg8fqLIIEmVqLN9KCAIQOskC9iins9pEHhWm9lWORXVlX0l8s3Hmx4_9Uk2Q=s864" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="864" data-original-width="864" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEifWMzzycZ4F4RGDQcNt6bi_SNw7oUkb_Ytv0DqcSvbyP9i_Kn0w8pxxEngrkLNm35WkvYZjtb1R2qlYTtHN9d7ISqOrrp336SzzJOAk7o5Ff1uyp9E9X0W0NS3UpoKCeJg8fqLIIEmVqLN9KCAIQOskC9iins9pEHhWm9lWORXVlX0l8s3Hmx4_9Uk2Q=w400-h400" width="400" /></a><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Because I wanted the card to be really special, I dipped the edge of the watercoloured heart into silver embossing powder and heat embossed the perimeter. The sentiment is simple: we just fit. Let's all hope for a happy, healthy 2022. I think, after the ups and downs of the last two years, we all deserve a break, don't you?</p><p>For this challenge I chose to combine some old designer paper featuring a realistic photographic scene with a beautifully animated cow image from an Art Impressions set I just got called Dairy Christmas. If you're a fan of AI, you'll know how much fun their wonderful images can be.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhLpIP7nujGtVSyifGLv6i155GemeEpKLBxzucd0PtHCv0hwRXg4GakcKM3LmxkXgwMC38I_QCbskTgUyfRSSFAGJ8QxDdVoBVBokY_XKEZxbmkMp5ZButWpdvey6xBFpcBLBz_FBD6-uD-1XQusKDKBA9c8w1YGt1-Rm6-jd8RAId0CGggflMPe3UtDw=s960" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhLpIP7nujGtVSyifGLv6i155GemeEpKLBxzucd0PtHCv0hwRXg4GakcKM3LmxkXgwMC38I_QCbskTgUyfRSSFAGJ8QxDdVoBVBokY_XKEZxbmkMp5ZButWpdvey6xBFpcBLBz_FBD6-uD-1XQusKDKBA9c8w1YGt1-Rm6-jd8RAId0CGggflMPe3UtDw=w400-h400" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This is an oversized card, measuring 5" x 6 1/2". I simply had to keep as much of the background as possible because it's gorgeous and, of course, the image of the leaping cow is not exactly small. But they work together, don't they? I just love the exuberance of her body position and the joyous look on her face. I coloured her using my Derwent watercolours and added some silver to the bells around her waist. I also added some silver shimmer to the snowflakes which are far more visible in person than in the photo. For a bit of realism, I also added the shaded-in hoof-prints behind her with my watercolours.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhmAyEMmd9HwaUZqA0Kt0Doe3JLpsEXLbLOxdSlK0-NgDIhtAgDDRDDZlx_DnhXOpUO7hFkoi-gtp4aaR2AkCuoSFvsgc23J4u-lDUtR0OKlNVg3TrWzFj88Wmtz9gj4YDC_3H18-oOLm-lepGdblZYCkDlbbCi84vg3Y-PGtKJgYYSeI-EZbhmQYHPNw=s864" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="864" data-original-width="864" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhmAyEMmd9HwaUZqA0Kt0Doe3JLpsEXLbLOxdSlK0-NgDIhtAgDDRDDZlx_DnhXOpUO7hFkoi-gtp4aaR2AkCuoSFvsgc23J4u-lDUtR0OKlNVg3TrWzFj88Wmtz9gj4YDC_3H18-oOLm-lepGdblZYCkDlbbCi84vg3Y-PGtKJgYYSeI-EZbhmQYHPNw=w400-h400" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My base for the card is the heavyweight Whisper White and then I've used a matte of Pacific Point under the lovely background designer paper. Christmas is looming every closer (and don't ask if I've managed to get all the gifts I planned on). To give ourselves a bit of peace of mind, we're having a special 3-week challenge. I have to admit to being very, very happy about that.</p><p>My card is a special swing fold. The design really worked well to showcase two different stamp sets, one by Anita Jeram of the Colorado Craft Company and the other by the Ciao Bella Papercrafting company. I think the images work together beautifully, don't you?</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh2X_7Y9K7GC2aX7Zv4rtfti0R8p-_zuYvEsEqpGI90N7PnAz5QyLjC3qDeK49jG1gEdICUtFz6OK5CUq0smGsO0VLu3w8EcdwiSRBCv7i1JUJitWbLB-ZdOy245CXcxUrz69V2Ho9vstjpf9OJawGEoJVK7m-1b6wxoVymGenWDwlb0h9855lmKqiDeA=s960" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh2X_7Y9K7GC2aX7Zv4rtfti0R8p-_zuYvEsEqpGI90N7PnAz5QyLjC3qDeK49jG1gEdICUtFz6OK5CUq0smGsO0VLu3w8EcdwiSRBCv7i1JUJitWbLB-ZdOy245CXcxUrz69V2Ho9vstjpf9OJawGEoJVK7m-1b6wxoVymGenWDwlb0h9855lmKqiDeA=w400-h400" width="450" /></a></div><p>I used a piece of leftover patterned paper which retired some years back. It makes a statement and yet doesn't take over from the images. You can see in the close-up why they call it a swing fold since, as the card opens, the inner image swings away from the outer images and frame. It results in a wonderful 3-D effect. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg3GxYQdey_4QEcCKbsIbi-3KeniylJYzoS4Sd_BiJFlTfQ9fGqIjNMnpK9kTWwRF2am1rGsS-PtN_lHquOHKsIc_1KuLsu8mZOMv7Uo1-R_9r6D0FpAdaFniEi_YqoWGQ-14luoFZR_ZBpb4mmgHvbqkbypWbxoTvSMnXDKjJFuE9Gxkk2U0UlJvHmoQ=s945" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="855" data-original-width="945" height="363" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg3GxYQdey_4QEcCKbsIbi-3KeniylJYzoS4Sd_BiJFlTfQ9fGqIjNMnpK9kTWwRF2am1rGsS-PtN_lHquOHKsIc_1KuLsu8mZOMv7Uo1-R_9r6D0FpAdaFniEi_YqoWGQ-14luoFZR_ZBpb4mmgHvbqkbypWbxoTvSMnXDKjJFuE9Gxkk2U0UlJvHmoQ=w400-h363" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After watercolouring the images, I added some Dazzling Details to the snow, adding texture and a whole lot of dazzle (the don't call it Dazzling Details for nothing!) My eyes pick up all the glittery areas and the nuances of colour but neither my camera(s) nor phone can manage the same. Clearly we have a way to go in attempting to match the human eye.</p><p>Why am I so hung up on glitter, you ask. Well this card is actually all about glitter. After all, the sentiment says the snow is sparkling like a million suns and my attempt here is to show exactly that. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7mUWu3rXjHh91YY9Cy5D8I9f7rAWkuju6ZAea4FU60b4Kri0NSKTb7XTeITzn94Jo1UQwSLIBCJicRNQw85Cm43Fm3resYc761I8p2Mpxmf75xJmXBmhPlThRuk1tCkcJ9RHECfXX4hOD/s810/WWC330+-+Snow+sparkles+03.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="810" data-original-width="810" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7mUWu3rXjHh91YY9Cy5D8I9f7rAWkuju6ZAea4FU60b4Kri0NSKTb7XTeITzn94Jo1UQwSLIBCJicRNQw85Cm43Fm3resYc761I8p2Mpxmf75xJmXBmhPlThRuk1tCkcJ9RHECfXX4hOD/w400-h400/WWC330+-+Snow+sparkles+03.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">With the bright sunshine today and angled slightly, the card does show some of the sparkle. I decided to have the bird appear to be standing on a snowball using the puffy white snow pen and then covering it with a combination of Shimmery Crystal Effects and a dab of Dazzling Details. After stamping the sled, sentiment and bird with the StudioLight images, I turned to the Stampin' Up! images for the branches and bunny (stamped, coloured and fussy-cut before adhering it with foam Dimensionals). Making a choice! I must have changed my mind a half dozen times before finally deciding to make a humorous masculine card using one of Bonnie Krebs' delightful Sloth images. Who doesn't love sloths?</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxY_wxh3Eb5XW2zrsJN9mEk5DYDs6BxQJe81W3E4j0-tbfFOOng9J3-1yOz3e-NkRIFQS-r6bMCOgQ2ZyvklO7pETlBJdZjwoa-64OPYnUbqGYMMAGUGk4nNQU1A_HAue867VGP0pmY2sj/s960/06+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="990" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxY_wxh3Eb5XW2zrsJN9mEk5DYDs6BxQJe81W3E4j0-tbfFOOng9J3-1yOz3e-NkRIFQS-r6bMCOgQ2ZyvklO7pETlBJdZjwoa-64OPYnUbqGYMMAGUGk4nNQU1A_HAue867VGP0pmY2sj/w400-h400/06+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><p>I chose to make the card in a slimline format since I wanted lots of room under the sloth which was hanging from a branch as they customarily do. The base is heavy Whisper White and then I've added a layer of Old Olive to bring out the colours of those little leaves. I used my Derwent watercolour pencils and an Aqua Painter to colour the image and love the results. To add some festive sparkle, I heat embossed a series of gold sparkles around the image. It's a birthday card, after all.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_gKToKxksnhuNNYU4dtcvqxpBzAHisHkQgAtVKEgCepq6SJemYgLjma2Hk4-hl1cJTATinN5AUh5ajC90dIsKZaC9pifdS0CAL9D3wD7zYtPUUcgSC5e_KVCYH0Ztw2OI1sEnpi22TDdp/s855/WWC329+-+Happy+Birthday+02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="855" data-original-width="855" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_gKToKxksnhuNNYU4dtcvqxpBzAHisHkQgAtVKEgCepq6SJemYgLjma2Hk4-hl1cJTATinN5AUh5ajC90dIsKZaC9pifdS0CAL9D3wD7zYtPUUcgSC5e_KVCYH0Ztw2OI1sEnpi22TDdp/w400-h400/WWC329+-+Happy+Birthday+02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p>I simply love the sweet expression on the sloth's face. Don't ask how that party hat is managing to stay on his head. That was Bonnie Krebs' idea. I think the card would work beautifully for a guy of any age, don't you? </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-LuRltX68mrPngEkSWcvB9u5sizB0IlEnGP7X9iaBHl-OBID-ZxrVqLJyPdtgtlETpmJdppeaRi5_mS8sULc9-yzIo3N0wVeJw-i4f7ZIVy7aGuCYa5NtDUtlXYvV0rQUYPQ4xaJ3vVpS/s960/WWC329+-+Cathy%2527s+Challenge+All+Things+Masculine.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-LuRltX68mrPngEkSWcvB9u5sizB0IlEnGP7X9iaBHl-OBID-ZxrVqLJyPdtgtlETpmJdppeaRi5_mS8sULc9-yzIo3N0wVeJw-i4f7ZIVy7aGuCYa5NtDUtlXYvV0rQUYPQ4xaJ3vVpS/s320/WWC329+-+Cathy%2527s+Challenge+All+Things+Masculine.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: 15.4px;">Have fun checking out our <a href="https://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/2021/11/wwc329-cathys-challenge-all-things.html" style="color: #33aaff; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Watercooler Wednesday Challenge</a> and I hope you'll link your creation before the deadline on Monday, November 29th, 2021.</span></p><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I've also entered my card at the following challenges:</span></p><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><a href="http://useyourstuff.blogspot.com/2021/11/435-tic-tac-toe-challenge.html" target="_blank">Use Your Stuff Challenge #435 - Tic Tac Toe</a> (blue, masculine, simple stamping)</p><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><a href="http://craftysentiments.blogspot.com/2021/11/new-challenge_0957898920.html" target="_blank">Crafty Sentiments Designs - Anything Goes</a></p><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><a href="http://lemonshortbreadchallenge.blogspot.com/2021/11/challenge-158-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">Lemon Shortbread Challenge #158 - Anything Goes</a></p>Heidi Weaverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05419041098621498364noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1635210224338635842.post-25538972395148411382021-11-03T06:00:00.002-06:002021-11-03T22:00:09.089-06:00WWC328 - Tristan's Challenge: All About Occasions<p>This is such a lovely stamp set called Wonderful Autumn by StudioLight. I love the background paper, as well, also created by StudioLight. It's easy to be inspired when everything works so well together.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEAfrCGGTUR9aPbf8DNrlrDN-vjEKztWwgPOr629Yq6byRf_4T2Fm1w3-mvS_cL6_9SoHEsnemUQw4kOTG2GriqLke3ZFua5a6YHDxTFDR76iP9v8JP7mmNXrgtpiTSFEBjMaHDPpZtRGo/s960/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEAfrCGGTUR9aPbf8DNrlrDN-vjEKztWwgPOr629Yq6byRf_4T2Fm1w3-mvS_cL6_9SoHEsnemUQw4kOTG2GriqLke3ZFua5a6YHDxTFDR76iP9v8JP7mmNXrgtpiTSFEBjMaHDPpZtRGo/w400-h400/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For some reason the colours are not photographing true. I find that singularly annoying. But after spending altogether too much time in Photoshop, I threw in the towel and gave up any chance of actually showing the true colours of the card which stands to the right of me at the moment, heckling the colours on my screen. I feel I have to apologize to the card for misrepresentation. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDwOWVJ6nNPgsGMuc1rw5vbbgIYgEpa4iVkVyOFZ3CKdOGlt_VvQYMeKrop7rvCoR7Q1y0wuQjtA77jFcj9_R4t4eK6TDKpB1inpFE-ySGzWs2zMOJFV1XcmS6LgetlQpt7xNQXR6Xycmh/s833/WWC328+-+Autumn+lets+go+02.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="833" data-original-width="833" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDwOWVJ6nNPgsGMuc1rw5vbbgIYgEpa4iVkVyOFZ3CKdOGlt_VvQYMeKrop7rvCoR7Q1y0wuQjtA77jFcj9_R4t4eK6TDKpB1inpFE-ySGzWs2zMOJFV1XcmS6LgetlQpt7xNQXR6Xycmh/w400-h400/WWC328+-+Autumn+lets+go+02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The sentiment appealed to me especially at this time since we are having to let go of our sweet and loving Khali Kho. Well, feminine isn't always what you think it might be.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0_vnMevM52jr_I9bqGyFPJncRSclVM1-TqeaYizsp9353rQLc2oSaDJjiNaPmIuHu3QWt4TwCJ1rbgpM8d1G36-73UMRvGgbnzJtKRQWMTgL3G2yuWJslxpS7eZpK8asYi11U4yIuMeAp/s960/03+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0_vnMevM52jr_I9bqGyFPJncRSclVM1-TqeaYizsp9353rQLc2oSaDJjiNaPmIuHu3QWt4TwCJ1rbgpM8d1G36-73UMRvGgbnzJtKRQWMTgL3G2yuWJslxpS7eZpK8asYi11U4yIuMeAp/w400-h400/03+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><p>That looks remarkably like a Hallowe'en card, doesn't it? The key here is the bit of Shakespearean witches' chant. Sounds a lot like making a brew, right? Well, my daughter, who adores Shakespeare and requires a daily <b>strong</b> cup of brew, also loves Hallowe'en. This is the perfect card for her.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBTAWcWzBw5wvJkng1Ydq-GspGqHNw0k9g_18zgzhmCeQeom8oXYixq9jTd2c8dWIQ3woZLEi6OkTH3birH19E0kYwSicYhK98ELkjFVhJqbWUuctz13Je5GFA0z84Hn7rl3OtdG6AvP7Y/s855/WWC327+-+Halloween+02.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="855" data-original-width="855" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBTAWcWzBw5wvJkng1Ydq-GspGqHNw0k9g_18zgzhmCeQeom8oXYixq9jTd2c8dWIQ3woZLEi6OkTH3birH19E0kYwSicYhK98ELkjFVhJqbWUuctz13Je5GFA0z84Hn7rl3OtdG6AvP7Y/w400-h400/WWC327+-+Halloween+02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I've taken bits and pieces of different Stampin' Up! sets for this card as well as a die-cut moon which has wandered away from its set and featured them all on this awesome Studio Light "Wonderful Autumn" patterned paper. I cut out the image with a cute squarish stitched die, leaving little room around it so that the background white cardstock could get some love. I decided to just use my embossing folder across two corner of the paper. Then I splattered some Broken China Distress Oxide ink across the paper. Once that had dried, I used my Silver UniBall pen to fill in the embossed stars. A quick stamp of the sentiment in black ink, a Smoky Slate matte and the image mounted using foam adhesive strips, and the card was done. Well, sort of. After I added some black metallic thread and a black sequin star, it was definitely done.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhZVL09GOD9hx9PryiTBysl9Lbs2lZf29UFTrHBCxeevwp5aqufh1gSu3Ss6hCris_JajqmLTQ9ZWK33OgJ3OgHa8uOwZkEx2NzI3xSd02ORCCjAQQLyNvXlyufLsabCgkRURF812ezbGI/s882/WWC325+-+Roll+My+Eyes+03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhZVL09GOD9hx9PryiTBysl9Lbs2lZf29UFTrHBCxeevwp5aqufh1gSu3Ss6hCris_JajqmLTQ9ZWK33OgJ3OgHa8uOwZkEx2NzI3xSd02ORCCjAQQLyNvXlyufLsabCgkRURF812ezbGI/w400-h400/WWC325+-+Roll+My+Eyes+03.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">But I couldn't just leave the inside blank. I'm sure it's happened to others than just myself. Well, this odd looking little pooch, having what looks like one too many cups of coffee, appealed to my sense of whimsy. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibzTLNv_1vwgTQyrMmHjLGh1nvqNjt-IAb-n6uvxDdNIWFJPLN_cS8GI3f45TJ7FESZFmte5YQj-5Z6Y95lytvSL5SkupbwgzK_enRqfmy25tPlfm4_gIoKPMA54heldCtCkOQ07-Tdmln/s960/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibzTLNv_1vwgTQyrMmHjLGh1nvqNjt-IAb-n6uvxDdNIWFJPLN_cS8GI3f45TJ7FESZFmte5YQj-5Z6Y95lytvSL5SkupbwgzK_enRqfmy25tPlfm4_gIoKPMA54heldCtCkOQ07-Tdmln/w400-h400/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After stamping the images on a piece of watercolour paper, I proceeded to choose the colours and then looked for my Aqua Painter. I could not find it to save my life. I suspect that my tortie, Khali Kho decided it made a very satisfactory noise when being winged across the floor and wound up leaving it under something when she got bored. I'll find it someday but not this day. I own seven Aqua Painters in all but this was my favourite. I had to "limp along" using another one to finish the card. *sigh*</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used a matte of Cajun Craze cardstock and a base of the Heavy Whisper White. It "grew like Topsy". I had a plan which, bit by bit, I discarded as the card evolved and became what it had decided to be. Does that ever happen to you?</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIw4uuV-Ksb7NyYKg1hWlmAHeb5cYA7aO2PGplI0i5f1bb2KLObFVcVXZI6nMA2IWMemnIQyr-8l9CITnj64qtI4byd3bcymEuzbor_FlpriPRSIp36KsJwnhhqnd9PBTi06aMbXgxm15c/s882/WWC323+-+Thanks+01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIw4uuV-Ksb7NyYKg1hWlmAHeb5cYA7aO2PGplI0i5f1bb2KLObFVcVXZI6nMA2IWMemnIQyr-8l9CITnj64qtI4byd3bcymEuzbor_FlpriPRSIp36KsJwnhhqnd9PBTi06aMbXgxm15c/w400-h400/WWC323+-+Thanks+01.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My mail arrived with a new stamp by Ellen Jareckie. You know how much I absolutely love her House-Mouse images. Well, this one was just released this year and spoke to the plant-lover in me. I immediately stamped the image twice, once on Coloured Pencil paper and once on Mixed Media paper. I wasn't entirely certain which way I would go. You see, I have a new set of General's Pastel Chalk Pencils and was anxious to try that media for a change. My "insurance", in case I absolutely hated the look, was the image on the Mixed Media paper, for which I would use my watercolours.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Well, the pastel chalk pencils worked out beautifully and I was all set to use the image for the front of my card. Somehow, despite my plans, I prepared my Base of Heavy Whisper White for a gatefold. Fine, I hadn't made a gatefold in a while and so was willing to see where this would lead. It led to my using several dies which I hadn't yet used as well as some silver foil paper which I hadn't thought to use for quite a long time. I also found and used some retired designer paper and used that.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqhyphenhyphenqOLdoUOxNDg01eXqZM-hy5zDxNUfF0Jk8nMbudhkfo3LEWmoZsIKHYr6Ftwko-6HMl_YVRJqbqzt0JnZOytFLhPHu7cxQrs_859DsqL0R7t2sQHzWSF7EatDHtNRagAE1qIvdr-hOQ/s1213/WWC323+-+Thanks+02.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="851" data-original-width="1233" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqhyphenhyphenqOLdoUOxNDg01eXqZM-hy5zDxNUfF0Jk8nMbudhkfo3LEWmoZsIKHYr6Ftwko-6HMl_YVRJqbqzt0JnZOytFLhPHu7cxQrs_859DsqL0R7t2sQHzWSF7EatDHtNRagAE1qIvdr-hOQ/w400-h231/WWC323+-+Thanks+02.jpg" width="460" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">When the gate opens, the grid and leaves come up and reveal the little mouse, happily napping in its scented "bed". </div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq-Hyq38uJdWa4Y8d1wbm9a9bct5dOQ4tZ8HFtma12L7AidSat3uEOOTFlbQNsoKlg0aJiCczFQpJRxPww-hMkf6P0b8WuSov1RO3FlTYxd0OqTzPhSGjz6fZ2Yb7P0dx_cfNAlcsVrWvn/s873/WWC323+-+Thanks+03.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="530" data-original-width="873" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq-Hyq38uJdWa4Y8d1wbm9a9bct5dOQ4tZ8HFtma12L7AidSat3uEOOTFlbQNsoKlg0aJiCczFQpJRxPww-hMkf6P0b8WuSov1RO3FlTYxd0OqTzPhSGjz6fZ2Yb7P0dx_cfNAlcsVrWvn/w400-h243/WWC323+-+Thanks+03.jpg" width="460" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Opening the other side of the gate reveals the full scene. I just got this sweet little acrylic stamp set called <b>...so tweet</b>. It could be used for many different occasions, but I decided to use the sweet image for a thank-you card.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc63afJkqhlz67lrUCqZBnQbqWqyl4_5MsfVZCVxMLadJGPPqB6SEKR8dVmBRedAKRywoJxNxdTXfHrZ4WABaGcrJG8XNHfOCVhhHZ8iwfuMs2b0B1zdaUVnWCB5nQk8Pw7bXU2UA6hTYF/s882/WWC322+-+Thank+you+01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc63afJkqhlz67lrUCqZBnQbqWqyl4_5MsfVZCVxMLadJGPPqB6SEKR8dVmBRedAKRywoJxNxdTXfHrZ4WABaGcrJG8XNHfOCVhhHZ8iwfuMs2b0B1zdaUVnWCB5nQk8Pw7bXU2UA6hTYF/w400-h400/WWC322+-+Thank+you+01.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used the Heavy Whisper White for my base and a piece of Mixed Media paper for my stamping. I kept it simple, stamping the image with Versafine Onyx Black, adding a couple of blooms from an old set, and then stamping my sentiment using the Versafine Onyx Black as well. For a change I didn't use my watercolour pencils but, instead, used my Daler-Rowney Aquafine watercolour paints. I love the softer finish this gave to my images, don't you?</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjexeOErVU2Q1n9VmnV2A1pU3hCzcfm8IoiXnWlHzI6mNZ7FbwATLAPMobiTrfTEvrPStKF-_kEbGbrTpBgSm703vj8gOI-mORKTRWw365-XVyqFAGMXVazvcKOCvu7QcPwBManP37WAnNd/s882/WWC322+-+Thank+you+02.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjexeOErVU2Q1n9VmnV2A1pU3hCzcfm8IoiXnWlHzI6mNZ7FbwATLAPMobiTrfTEvrPStKF-_kEbGbrTpBgSm703vj8gOI-mORKTRWw365-XVyqFAGMXVazvcKOCvu7QcPwBManP37WAnNd/w400-h400/WWC322+-+Thank+you+02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Instead of using a matte which was just slightly larger than the Mixed Media paper, I chose to cut an eight-sided matte which allowed just portions of the colour to peek out. My base is a Heavy Whisper White followed by a matte of Pool Party. For the images, I used a piece of Mixed Media paper and stamped my scene. I love the fact that this set has lots of background images as well as images of the gnomes. It really helped a lot since I didn't have to go hunting through various stamp sets just to set a scene. For a change I watercoloured my images and background using a variety of Stampin' Up! stamp pads as well as my Stampin' Markers.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaUzT1IQu5ooKLD6hpY0nNdvwCo2PfcB_gKB0CxSSZrik1hcAtcg2jg2h-paAHP1Xa6p5RL0Y8TAGwOrl_kqS4XvAdxr7mOA4sgK_qJHJ7mKKCn96-eOs_WIzcLB7OSGGFaE9n-nF1BWh9/s1078/WWC321+-+Happy+Birthday+02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1078" data-original-width="588" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaUzT1IQu5ooKLD6hpY0nNdvwCo2PfcB_gKB0CxSSZrik1hcAtcg2jg2h-paAHP1Xa6p5RL0Y8TAGwOrl_kqS4XvAdxr7mOA4sgK_qJHJ7mKKCn96-eOs_WIzcLB7OSGGFaE9n-nF1BWh9/w350-h640/WWC321+-+Happy+Birthday+02.jpg" width="350" /></a></div><br /><div>I love the way I was able to have a veritable waterfall of images by using this top fold, don't you? The background paper is stunning and I'm so glad I got it from the Craft Consortium. The grunge colours really compliment the colours in each scene, don't they? I've even added one extra frame with the sentiment stamped right on it and waiting for personal greetings to the birthday boy/man. I love that there is such a variety of images with which I could play. I also love stamps with little animals, especially mice. How cute is this new stamp I've gotten from Penny Black with three little mice floating along in tiny little walnut shells?<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVo9XzD-TSV0-isy2WfIGggI53mtpYZ_-Pr1SsoyOSuIYhn9KW5FEK3hW0_uGJ8Muya6o-cJbz-taaOIDaZWIREQJH4GFaEQP-wXK7NB0_z7sONy6ylS2V3QJGydl7lFhnNwN0tamQ_Qz-/s960/05+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVo9XzD-TSV0-isy2WfIGggI53mtpYZ_-Pr1SsoyOSuIYhn9KW5FEK3hW0_uGJ8Muya6o-cJbz-taaOIDaZWIREQJH4GFaEQP-wXK7NB0_z7sONy6ylS2V3QJGydl7lFhnNwN0tamQ_Qz-/w400-h400/05+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div><br /><div>I decided to make a birthday card. After all, you should be able to do your own thing on your birthday, right? With a base of bright Pineapple Punch, I needed a nice bright blue as a matte and this one, in a pretty lacy die-cut, is perfect in Balmy Blue. </div></div><div><br /></div><div>I stamped the images using VersaFine Clair Morning Mist. I love the softer edge it gives, don't you? Then I used my Aqua Painter and a variety of stamp pads to watercolour my images. Since the walnut shells are a pretty Soft Suede, I also used the colour for the sentiments. It's always about balance, isn't it?</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfQF698nm1H7TU07K-pY3zkra0LvIylbj3aelsDUgsmD7SR6Jy3deoYzyPl4b5by8FdhTtbi_FuLZwj1pDOvdqGEDXC6lvUy4CnCPGdtnxvls2QK4x1EwFi9sLZuSkgmn_k1YfsDPDpKYh/s960/WWC320+-+Dawn%2527s+All+About+Occasions.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfQF698nm1H7TU07K-pY3zkra0LvIylbj3aelsDUgsmD7SR6Jy3deoYzyPl4b5by8FdhTtbi_FuLZwj1pDOvdqGEDXC6lvUy4CnCPGdtnxvls2QK4x1EwFi9sLZuSkgmn_k1YfsDPDpKYh/s320/WWC320+-+Dawn%2527s+All+About+Occasions.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div><span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; font-size: 15.4px;">Have fun checking out our </span><a href="https://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/2021/07/wwc320-dawns-challenge-all-about.html" style="background-color: white; color: #33aaff; font-family: inherit; font-size: 15.4px; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Watercooler Wednesday Challenge</a><span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; font-size: 15.4px;"> and I hope you'll link your creation before the deadline on Monday, July 26th, 2021.</span><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I've also entered my card at the following challenges:</span></p><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><a href="http://lemonshortbreadchallenge.blogspot.com/2021/07/challenge-150-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">Lemon Shortbread Challenge #150 - Anything Goes</a></p><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><a href="https://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/2021/07/pbsc-july-anything-goesoptional.html" target="_blank">Penny Black Saturday Challenge PBSC July - Anything Goes</a></p><p style="background-color: white; font-family: Nobile; font-size: 15.4px;"><br /></p></div>Heidi Weaverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05419041098621498364noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1635210224338635842.post-18597638254817279952021-06-30T06:00:00.083-06:002021-06-30T06:00:00.255-06:00WWC319 - Helen's Challenge: All Things Feminine<p>It's wonderful when one can use some fabulous Designer Paper, a brand new intricate die set and a terrific new stamp set on a card. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKiBQjZuiZFVwIVEcwtD_15qsX2_sTBZ4SRhGGZGh2SUdqyzwbtG4j6uR_H3E_akuwwYdzGswhVlCpfBug9QSU5cKP7gRhnwsapbx-YUv_ssaZgQHKBq1wVExKNO0jy0rPw-jbUmVuo9fP/s960/05+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKiBQjZuiZFVwIVEcwtD_15qsX2_sTBZ4SRhGGZGh2SUdqyzwbtG4j6uR_H3E_akuwwYdzGswhVlCpfBug9QSU5cKP7gRhnwsapbx-YUv_ssaZgQHKBq1wVExKNO0jy0rPw-jbUmVuo9fP/w400-h400/05+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series paper was so fabulous that I decided not to have a sentiment on the front of my card. I love the way the photographed flowers actually appear to be on top of the paper rather than just being a design. I feel as if I could reach out and pick them up. This part of the card was simple to make. I used a base of the Heavy Whisper White, added a matte of Crumb Cake and then adhered the piece of patterned paper.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB2S8HrXnCKV1g1iYwYyQJ9rO8xrHYBZlUIfgrx9ANnAbT3ECCiQxkWkqXrs3KT9fI_ugg1kcK_o2PIYWRfIeN2aMSuW9cZsokpyw9B8gJ3CC6vNeJZE9Y9vonCGbb-JqelqUqswnAsJMy/s882/WWC319+-+Happy+Birthday+02.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB2S8HrXnCKV1g1iYwYyQJ9rO8xrHYBZlUIfgrx9ANnAbT3ECCiQxkWkqXrs3KT9fI_ugg1kcK_o2PIYWRfIeN2aMSuW9cZsokpyw9B8gJ3CC6vNeJZE9Y9vonCGbb-JqelqUqswnAsJMy/w400-h400/WWC319+-+Happy+Birthday+02.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And then we get to the inside of the card. I was excited to use Karen Burniston's Photo Collage dies for the first time. First I adhered some patterned paper to each side of the inside. Then I used the die on a piece of heavyweight Mixed Media paper. In Karen's video, she suggested using a very heavy paper since the pieces of this photo collage move each time the card is opened or closed. Once I assembled the die cuts and adhered them to the centre of the card, I was ready to add some fun sentiments from Penny Black's "Choose Happy" stamp set. I also added some fussy-cut butterflies since they complimented the floral paper so nicely.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcdU19ME22diz9wnvVihBxlqj6iJe8EdkLKSez5beCGouv3eBWUxPxsvJ1mX-K_S6YIIxNo8I4CK4sbFkGCycd4epSJFJCZxz1oIhM_vUqN-yOgrN5notpg3oexpqbFImAUz2AGCch0yVK/s882/WWC319+-+Happy+Birthday+03.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcdU19ME22diz9wnvVihBxlqj6iJe8EdkLKSez5beCGouv3eBWUxPxsvJ1mX-K_S6YIIxNo8I4CK4sbFkGCycd4epSJFJCZxz1oIhM_vUqN-yOgrN5notpg3oexpqbFImAUz2AGCch0yVK/w400-h400/WWC319+-+Happy+Birthday+03.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">You can just tell from this photo of my hand and the card, how they mechanism pulls the pieces inside the card as you close it and then has them "explode" out as you open the card. Of course I made a Father's Day card. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDSmYg1vmY0Ou195V3UBt7WzLjzIVoV08yFPlc-pajiJVa6iEnGbOD8xA4qHs_PlklsCJuu7TAOd2BYEQJJM0uhEAyfrZu2A6ZSA3KmyrjK65G4CvJNfN-4obmF_phbpR9hWXHRWGFycAm/s960/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDSmYg1vmY0Ou195V3UBt7WzLjzIVoV08yFPlc-pajiJVa6iEnGbOD8xA4qHs_PlklsCJuu7TAOd2BYEQJJM0uhEAyfrZu2A6ZSA3KmyrjK65G4CvJNfN-4obmF_phbpR9hWXHRWGFycAm/w400-h400/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This continues to be one of my favourite stamp sets for Father's Day. Titled "A Good Man", the images are perfect and loving. You can get fancy and mix it up with different background and/or fancy patterned papers, but I love the clean and simple look for these images. This one, especially, needs nothing more than the coloured image and these sentiments. If it's a lovely sunny day for Father's Day, the lucky man in your life will probably relax and "catch some rays" after a picnic feast.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used my Derwent Watercolour pencils for this card, along with my Aqua Painter. I think I set a record for the number of times I changed my mind about the card for my challenge. Seriously, I have a pile of stamp cases on my crafting table which I really do have to put back on the shelves. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMqxUQQCnHgLQgQ6mcswII0L0pwqaFv1zX_dtw6I0qQ6EIDYCZpsKlJvEeQhc8KqEaXMf_DFGISKsrK0AS67lAFQx-joD1a_Wnmy0gsbd-ua1ejlZsuGtjmUqx3Zamog4vCOXU_4QkgMs9/s960/01+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMqxUQQCnHgLQgQ6mcswII0L0pwqaFv1zX_dtw6I0qQ6EIDYCZpsKlJvEeQhc8KqEaXMf_DFGISKsrK0AS67lAFQx-joD1a_Wnmy0gsbd-ua1ejlZsuGtjmUqx3Zamog4vCOXU_4QkgMs9/w400-h400/01+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As it turned out, I didn't use any of the sets which I had pulled. I happened to be clearing a shelf and saw a die-set which I bought a couple of years ago and hadn't used. Somehow these three musicians just appealed to me and I wound up with a black, red and white slimline card. The set which I am using for Cathy's challenge is called Birthday Wishes and, although I didn't use them for my one-layer card, also has dies. I'm sure I'll be using the images along with the dies sooner than later.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPEyVG4xv4Gmyejdwlze5xif-tkrUf37VjsFbKzUo4oGu0lVeO8ECDcNnLmkkGXUrwrzNFIQTgmx8dWFQvcd8JEhn39zSo4Zb0E2h4FC7s_DbTkrh9LUbyXUyNhDAa09jnWEjfb9YVqS6P/s960/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPEyVG4xv4Gmyejdwlze5xif-tkrUf37VjsFbKzUo4oGu0lVeO8ECDcNnLmkkGXUrwrzNFIQTgmx8dWFQvcd8JEhn39zSo4Zb0E2h4FC7s_DbTkrh9LUbyXUyNhDAa09jnWEjfb9YVqS6P/w400-h400/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used a base of the Heavy Whisper White and then stamped my images on regular Whisper White cardstock. While I like the regular Whisper White, it isn't the best for watercolouring. I found it really soaked up the colour and, for a very anxious half hour, I though that it would never dry to a smooth finish. It is, however, a very bright white, and I think the colours show up brilliantly, don't you?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMCWvrK_fuONcoTNlK0To6hiZeAMfHAoordACYkn-D1WPX7Y8cBANxfd0J3ORN3leG4dYWq_7aH04mL9KoJj7qmbUdLBPFAdVB7AmcDbkGL_8hQzOl8_RIYgP1OtgRTDMv5Hwd3jStG6_T/s882/WWC316+-Happy+Birthday+01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMCWvrK_fuONcoTNlK0To6hiZeAMfHAoordACYkn-D1WPX7Y8cBANxfd0J3ORN3leG4dYWq_7aH04mL9KoJj7qmbUdLBPFAdVB7AmcDbkGL_8hQzOl8_RIYgP1OtgRTDMv5Hwd3jStG6_T/w400-h400/WWC316+-Happy+Birthday+01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As I said, I kept this to a single layer on my base. I didn't use a matte to keep the scene dominant, rather than have competition with a bright surrounding colour. I like the results. The sentiment, rabbit holding the balloon and hamster jumping up from the tree stump are all by Anita Jeram. The tree stump, however, is from the Craft Consortium's Little Fawn and Friends series of stamps. I think it works together with the other stamps quite perfectly, don't you?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white;">Have fun checking out our </span><a href="https://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/2021/05/wwc316-cathys-challenge-all-about.html" style="background-color: white; color: #33aaff; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Watercooler Wednesday Challenge</a><span style="background-color: white;"> and I hope you'll link your creation before the deadline on Monday, May 31st, 2021.</span></span></div></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipzhMQp9sLaoZVkloZ2bfmKlzQ35XX6iNP2m-YEu26BGhDIrn3otGD4weIAUm7OuhYo4ncbjz3l7sInENV5fox_HVgxoAMV0hj0C5f0y_6f-MSEQaRzhOhi4fzWlKBve0cmcQNIsnEC4az/s960/WWC316+-+Cathy%2527s+All+About+Occasions.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipzhMQp9sLaoZVkloZ2bfmKlzQ35XX6iNP2m-YEu26BGhDIrn3otGD4weIAUm7OuhYo4ncbjz3l7sInENV5fox_HVgxoAMV0hj0C5f0y_6f-MSEQaRzhOhi4fzWlKBve0cmcQNIsnEC4az/s320/WWC316+-+Cathy%2527s+All+About+Occasions.jpg" /></a></div><p>I've also entered my card in the following challenges:</p><p><a href="https://aaabirthday.blogspot.com/2021/05/game-25-happy-birthday.html" target="_blank">AAA Birthday: Game #25 - Happy Birthday</a> (Happy 2nd Birthday)</p><p><a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=23853" target="_blank">Simon Says Monday Challenge Blog - Four legged friends</a></p><p><a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/2021/05/nbus-challenge-26.html" target="_blank">NBUS Challenge #26 - Never Before Used Shtuff</a></p><p><a href="http://papercraftcrew.com/pcc427-theme-challenge/" target="_blank">PCC427 - Theme Challenge</a> (#SimpleStamping)</p>Heidi Weaverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05419041098621498364noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1635210224338635842.post-12398636283774524692021-05-05T06:00:00.001-06:002021-05-05T06:00:00.386-06:00WWC315 - Marsha's Challenge: All Things Feminine<p> It's been a month since I used one of my House Mouse stamps and I swear I'm suffering from withdrawal. So, of course, I had to use one today. This card was such fun to make, deciding on a sentiment and having everything fit into a slimline card.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh_nzVq8tW2jVIGwCof39Q6lieoZiVNcu9aSdwOj0kIBhwY0mjAbNQpNYo_4WLJdz2DD-5C8_ClRx81i8dY4JSS_ES2578bWkICYj5fE52xf_qBusWBzUlUjAOs187Otco6b1tf3Vok07q/s960/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh_nzVq8tW2jVIGwCof39Q6lieoZiVNcu9aSdwOj0kIBhwY0mjAbNQpNYo_4WLJdz2DD-5C8_ClRx81i8dY4JSS_ES2578bWkICYj5fE52xf_qBusWBzUlUjAOs187Otco6b1tf3Vok07q/w400-h400/07+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Just because I knew I wanted to use a House Mouse image, I checked out the HM&FMC to see what their option was for the current challenge. And the option was for a slimline card. That took a lot of pressure off. For you crafters out there, you know how sometimes it takes a while to get going, thinking about all the styles of cards one can create. Knowing I was going to make a slimline card and having already picked out my image, I felt like a huge weight was lifted and was able to get right down to creating instead of thinking and overthinking, turning the whole thing into an ordeal.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used a base of Whisper White and was able to use a fun set of slimline dies which I just acquired. The set let me cut out the lovely scalloped Melon Mambo layer, the stitched white layer, and the skinny piece onto which I stamped my image and the sentiment. Way to get the ball rolling! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwgp-qRnU3NqvaEwcPPlFoL-sNNkfs6ACEOL_eGJvKm2XQCm9WHAvhnbj1btJfnP9pWh1hikQPfvbvUNUtvsRgmNOyF-IZG53JvSVs-E9LiNHWEUbvZdvCebXysTgMO4t6MN-1F10FvPji/s882/WWC315+-+Life+Status+02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwgp-qRnU3NqvaEwcPPlFoL-sNNkfs6ACEOL_eGJvKm2XQCm9WHAvhnbj1btJfnP9pWh1hikQPfvbvUNUtvsRgmNOyF-IZG53JvSVs-E9LiNHWEUbvZdvCebXysTgMO4t6MN-1F10FvPji/w400-h400/WWC315+-+Life+Status+02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After stamping Amanda mouse, I used my Spun Sugar and Faded Jeans Oxide Inks to make the sky. Then I watercoloured her cute image using my Derwent watercolour pencils and Aqua Painter. To ground her, I added some grass and watercoloured the area in a variety of earthy colours. When everything had dried, I assembled the card and felt that something was missing.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAKJ0jR2hsD9VdJcrgXNkTFT5TS4qBLS1pPMPh_GwD-Nr3HOrStYYRNgB7ReJC768G2T3Zp7dtCUfa9nODdPaCN7Oo0pFb6XtpbIpH11U3f-G9LcyyTimI77dWp2ms2CC8BVlJcdOvQ3O8/s882/WWC315+-+Life+Status+03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAKJ0jR2hsD9VdJcrgXNkTFT5TS4qBLS1pPMPh_GwD-Nr3HOrStYYRNgB7ReJC768G2T3Zp7dtCUfa9nODdPaCN7Oo0pFb6XtpbIpH11U3f-G9LcyyTimI77dWp2ms2CC8BVlJcdOvQ3O8/w400-h400/WWC315+-+Life+Status+03.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So I grabbed my Shimmery Crystal Effects and added three "dew drops" to the flower petals. Seriously, I was trying to decide for which occasion I would create a card for our challenge and spied a piece of paper on the floor. It looked remarkably like something I had cut out and had put aside to use for a card "someday". We all do that, don't we? Well, putting it aside is one thing. Finding it on the floor is a totally unacceptable thing. I knew immediately who the culprit was, of course. My sweet, butter wouldn't melt in her mouth Khali had made another trip across my crafting table and, being the clumsiest (and cutest) feline I've ever met, had inadvertently pushed the cut-out onto the floor. </p><p>And that led to the creation of this Birthday card.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1e4nmyYAVoLf-zKHexO-omfBlHvb9ePgI8FOS5RsUjFMYww139Uq_3ukNf8A_LUTmewf-18-xbEQfZIvwlwUVPQUjWsaaJObLfOYRWhtlqdUEXlgxGRHaWwohfOYfAnbmvzkFSKKVlYze/s960/06+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1e4nmyYAVoLf-zKHexO-omfBlHvb9ePgI8FOS5RsUjFMYww139Uq_3ukNf8A_LUTmewf-18-xbEQfZIvwlwUVPQUjWsaaJObLfOYRWhtlqdUEXlgxGRHaWwohfOYfAnbmvzkFSKKVlYze/w400-h400/06+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I love the "Happy Birthday" die but absolutely hate putting glue onto the die-cut. By the time you finish going from one end to the other, across all the lines and intricate details, the portion where you began has dried. But a few months ago I happened to have purchased a roll of Diecut and Bond. This is thin paper, double sided with adhesive. You put it onto a piece of cardstock, use your die to cut whatever design you happen to want for a card, and voila. The backing peels off and it sticks by itself. While I'm sure this doesn't come as a surprise to a lot of you, it was like magic for me and I will be using my more intricate dies a whole lot more from now on. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Oh, and that heat embossing on the red? It just looked so plain when I laid all the pieces out so I grabbed a relatively neutral background stamp (Crackle Paint) and heat embossed the pattern onto the red using my clear embossing powder. I discovered a Canadian stamp company and am the proud owner of one of their stamp/die sets. It's called Beaver & Hockey, both of which epitomize what the world considers as Canadian. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGO5urKwwzRRlNzCPTsdINsKGwsjHPzig6smg-FzRsPjSQcTn-8m5xYxfE9Xx8hT9S9KDQrQBYZYM3RfFWWHZ4XKuDn8HXXRLvtnBW0vgDvtEDBcbce8ijxaIlLCK_UVupoNoT3yN_nS7j/s960/06+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGO5urKwwzRRlNzCPTsdINsKGwsjHPzig6smg-FzRsPjSQcTn-8m5xYxfE9Xx8hT9S9KDQrQBYZYM3RfFWWHZ4XKuDn8HXXRLvtnBW0vgDvtEDBcbce8ijxaIlLCK_UVupoNoT3yN_nS7j/w400-h400/06+-+Heidi+Weaver.jpg" width="450" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I had a few different ideas for this set, which included a bookmark, but finally decided on a tag attached to a card. Wouldn't the tag, by itself, be perfect attached to a present for the hockey player in your life? But attached to the card, it's looks pretty perfect anyway, doesn't it?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used a base cardstock of Soft Suede followed by a plain layer of Pacific Point and, finally, a layer of Whisper White put through the Big Shot with a star embossing folder. I stamped the cute little beaver and the smiling puck onto a piece of Whisper White and coloured the images using my Derwent Watercolour pencils as well as an Aqua Painter. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwnPn4VUw52qs5-cTHb480K-aETXe0Mkf5EPC8Tr7CYj2ER9h-mp0ubJntXGlxyyhoeZPQ9CvOcjcb7EEucuJWlxkZ_Xk2fOgUzfSFCxQFmQtsdrj0glgc-b_f2OoMOZOGlFDQvw0eQyHT/s756/WWC313+-+Oh+Puck+02.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="756" data-original-width="485" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwnPn4VUw52qs5-cTHb480K-aETXe0Mkf5EPC8Tr7CYj2ER9h-mp0ubJntXGlxyyhoeZPQ9CvOcjcb7EEucuJWlxkZ_Xk2fOgUzfSFCxQFmQtsdrj0glgc-b_f2OoMOZOGlFDQvw0eQyHT/w256-h400/WWC313+-+Oh+Puck+02.jpg" width="256" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used a fun stitched tag die to cut the tag from a piece of Soft Suede and tied a piece of blue ribbon at the top. Then I heat embossed the top sentiment and complimentary bottom sentiment using white embossing powder. After using foam dimensionals to attach the tag to the card, I added the smiling puck and hockey beaver to the tag, also using foam dimensionals. The result is a fun card that would appeal to both young and old(er) hockey fans.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdZ1QEpMxrAUCRFjFIOUyJSRWx2EdsQfRqR1BXbGCfOpSbRWD16Voo07CVgjOHvROqFFfPNAfE7d4hAUNioBEGDBUCuK4BcbAe-4Q5TV0S9Bh_a71kUHUqwF9aEmNfyBYxCEI-5yu_D5Lp/s882/WWC313+-+Oh+Puck.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdZ1QEpMxrAUCRFjFIOUyJSRWx2EdsQfRqR1BXbGCfOpSbRWD16Voo07CVgjOHvROqFFfPNAfE7d4hAUNioBEGDBUCuK4BcbAe-4Q5TV0S9Bh_a71kUHUqwF9aEmNfyBYxCEI-5yu_D5Lp/w400-h400/WWC313+-+Oh+Puck.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Have fun checking out our <a href="https://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/2021/04/wwc313-tristans-challenge-all-things.html" style="color: #33aaff; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Watercooler Wednesday Challenge</a> and I hope you'll link your creation before the deadline on Monday, April 19th, 2021.</span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic-BDbdvqgPp5xvmCs_riBYcUq45X-K7BNA23XjAFt8UeCpoqUPSyCIPBdLRRuarTkFs4bgScl9Um2Ug55hD-wRd8-zdSaxAuPXVArWT8uQ2XZwAcId8adnDZvDyn3750tvCU4RVemsq9L/s960/WWC313+-+Tristan%2527s+Challenge+All+Things+Masculine.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic-BDbdvqgPp5xvmCs_riBYcUq45X-K7BNA23XjAFt8UeCpoqUPSyCIPBdLRRuarTkFs4bgScl9Um2Ug55hD-wRd8-zdSaxAuPXVArWT8uQ2XZwAcId8adnDZvDyn3750tvCU4RVemsq9L/s320/WWC313+-+Tristan%2527s+Challenge+All+Things+Masculine.jpg" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white;">I'm also entering my card in the following challenges:</span> </span><div><br /></div><div><a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=23545" target="_blank">Simon Says Monday Challenge - Layer It</a> (many layers in this card)</div><div><br /></div><div><a href="https://happylittlestampers.blogspot.com/2021/04/hls-april-watercolour-challenge.html" target="_blank">HLS April Watercolour Challenge - Anything Goes</a></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/2021/04/268-use-something-new-to-your-stash.html" target="_blank">Cardz 4 Guyz #268 - Use Something new to your Stash </a></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://lemonshortbreadchallenge.blogspot.com/2021/04/challenge-143-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">Lemon Shortbread Challenge #143 - Anything Goes</a><br /><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span> <p></p></div></div>Heidi Weaverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05419041098621498364noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1635210224338635842.post-26323308904662529532021-03-24T06:00:00.003-06:002021-03-29T21:53:58.718-06:00WWC312 - Helen's Challenge: All About Occasions<div>I was thrilled to discover that my card was chosen as one of the Top Three winners for the challenge.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2v5CCagSrFdS7hF3iXmtHQ__ynpiCxkUNVP-dvAnzQIx88_LBd4DwBpb4TQjtXhHX3buUZFi9yTGc72FqZEGukDYTCeFbe5h6fVNpY9iZ3pjJgOIrd-o_4Evz_CEE2NvO7qX95YOkdGsM/s1101/hmbannerspring+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="291" data-original-width="1101" height="106" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2v5CCagSrFdS7hF3iXmtHQ__ynpiCxkUNVP-dvAnzQIx88_LBd4DwBpb4TQjtXhHX3buUZFi9yTGc72FqZEGukDYTCeFbe5h6fVNpY9iZ3pjJgOIrd-o_4Evz_CEE2NvO7qX95YOkdGsM/w400-h106/hmbannerspring+%25282%2529.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div>We're having an early Spring this year. I love that the colours reflect the colours which I've used in watercolouring the scene, don't you? Most of the colours are from my Derwent watercolour pencils but the bare wood fence as well as the background sky are from my Stampin' Up! stamp pads. The Gray Granite was perfect for the look of the weathered wood and, of course, the Balmy Blue was perfect for the sky.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqUDKtTZaWq-pYH6rrkDgOxU9BAOglHX62AVxV6ff0LpE4fVd998Q3rPx4Sy-4m1b55nVLPUB6SifbxUwe4XateSYJXlxFtknrdjBHH_LFpbyTbSABgE7Yq-POZ_TwCgVWY_0z2bl3-_55/s882/WWC312+-+Robin+gifts+02.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="882" data-original-width="882" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqUDKtTZaWq-pYH6rrkDgOxU9BAOglHX62AVxV6ff0LpE4fVd998Q3rPx4Sy-4m1b55nVLPUB6SifbxUwe4XateSYJXlxFtknrdjBHH_LFpbyTbSABgE7Yq-POZ_TwCgVWY_0z2bl3-_55/w400-h400/WWC312+-+Robin+gifts+02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I simply love the look on this little mouse's face as he looks up at the offered worms and grubs and points to his friends, suggesting they are hungry rather than himself. On the stamp it appears as if the Robin has a fly or other winged insect in its beak but I thought grubs and worms would be more effective. First of all, they are slimier looking and second of all, they are easier to identify in the picture. It wasn't difficult to take one of my permanent journaling pens and create the changes I wanted. As usual I finished up by adding a touch of the Nuvo Aqua shimmer. I think it's perfect on the buds and flowers, don't you?</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg7w3zXox6gn8ej6gG6qbQkOXOO70YyzUn9lRj3LYLu-9RGxuPIlzFBBlGITACiE6i5AjFsJJnzRWJ9MFySUNck345Fuc6IxFye_S8pYCFnycymXHLdCR0Y_KRlxBeMg8Bzsw7Q0AamBnQ/s960/WWC312+-+Helen%2527s+Challenge+All+About+Occasions.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg7w3zXox6gn8ej6gG6qbQkOXOO70YyzUn9lRj3LYLu-9RGxuPIlzFBBlGITACiE6i5AjFsJJnzRWJ9MFySUNck345Fuc6IxFye_S8pYCFnycymXHLdCR0Y_KRlxBeMg8Bzsw7Q0AamBnQ/s320/WWC312+-+Helen%2527s+Challenge+All+About+Occasions.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Have fun checking out our <a href="https://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.com/2021/03/wwc312-helens-challenge-all-about.html" style="color: #33aaff; text-decoration-line: none;" target="_blank">Watercooler Wednesday Challenge</a> and I hope you'll link your creation before the deadline on Monday, April 5th, 2021.</span></span><p style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I'm also entering my card in the following challenges:</span></p><p style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><a href="http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/2021/03/hmfmc-336-anything-goes-or-bugs.html" target="_blank">House-Mouse Challenge (HM&FMC #336) -Anything Goes with an Option of Bugs</a></span></p><p style="background-color: white;"><a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=23142" target="_blank">Simon Says Monday Challenge - Whatever the weather</a></p><p style="background-color: white;"><a href="http://lemonshortbreadchallenge.blogspot.com/2021/03/challenge-142-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">Lemon Shortbread #142 - Always Anything Goes</a></p><p style="background-color: white;"><a href="http://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.com/2021/03/challenge-235-furfeathers.html" target="_blank">Inkspirational Challenge #235 - Fur/Feathers</a></p></div>Heidi Weaverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05419041098621498364noreply@blogger.com10
